Arthritis Pain Relief

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on March 4, 2009

Did you know that a short series of Chiropractic treatments can provide relief from the pain, swelling, and stiffness of arthritis. CHIROPRACTIC treatments are useful for:

  • Relief of the joint pain, swelling, and stiffness of osteoarthritis (OA). OA is a type of arthritis caused by wear and tear on bones and joints
  • Relief of the joint pain, swelling, and stiffness of adult rheumatoid arthritis (RA). RA is an autoimmune disease that attacks healthy joint tissue, starting a process of inflammation and joint damage
  • At our clinic we’ve developed a new treatment that restores the function of your bodies Regulatory T cells, which when working properly, protect the body against inflammatory autoimmune diseases
  • Management of acute pain in adults (such as pain from strains and sprains) or pain after surgery

The word arthritis means “joint inflammation.” When joints are inflamed, it causes pain. For many people, arthritis pain has a large impact on their life.

Why is pain important?
Pain is important. It lets us know when something is wrong. Pain is our body’s warning that lets us know that we have an injury. We have nerves that take signals from an injury to the brain. The signals are read and our brain tells us to get away from danger. Pain can come from an injury with a clear cause such as a cut or a burn. It can also come from a source that’s hard to pinpoint. Doctors are just now starting to realize the full impact that pain can have on overall health. When pain is ignored, it can lead to serious health problems.

Managing your pain
Chiropractic treatments have proven to be more effective than drugs at reducing pain and boost joint function. Chiropractic treatments have few if any side effects, while drugs have both short term and long term side effects and consequences. Chiropractic treatments over the long term make it much easier to manage your pain and maintain a better quality of life. The most important thing you can do to overcome arthritis is to become an active participant in managing your pain. See you Chiropractor. Discuss the pain you are feeling. Together you can find the best treatment plan for you.

Fatty Acids: The Cell Membrane Connection

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on November 11, 2006

Fatty Acids

Chronic, neurotoxin-mediated illnesses.

Our cell membrane is that target of degenerate disease and generally all states of ill-health. Chronic illnesses related to biotoxic damage to cell membranes are what Patricia Kane refers to as ‘Neurotoxic Membrane Syndrome.’ Maintaining and sustaining the functional vitality of our cell membranes is the highest priority in our fight against anti-aging and the ravages of disease. The Clinical Effects of Calcium Orotate

Posted by Dr Ted Edwards on November 11, 2006

mineral-transport-theory.jpgCalcium Orotate is one of the orotic acids formulated by Dr. Hans Nieper. This “substance which interests us enormously is orotic acid which forms a high complex salt with any mineral and which has no metabolic affinity to the outer cell membrane but penetrates . . . and is only metabolized at the site of the membranes of the mitochondria and of the structures found in the cell plasma. Only here the mineral will be released to the form of an ion.”

“The orotic molecule is taken up by mesenchymal tissue and by bradytrophic tissue, especially the cartilage tissue and also by the vessel walls, by the blood-brain barrier and by the matrix of the bone.”
